A story with chocolates and crocodiles

2020 was a year of change for everyone and also for us.

We changed our name and began a new stage that we want to share with you.

Batllori is the grandmother's surname, which had already been lost in the next generation.

We wanted to pay tribute to her and the lost surnames.

She, Antonieta, was a strong woman, with character, who had three daughters. She was the kind of person who, when you were sick, would come to see you and bring you a brioche. She was the kind of person who, when you stayed over to sleep at her house, would leave you a chocolate bar hidden under your pillow. She was the kind of person who took care of you. She was a person who paid attention to details. She was also the kind of person who knew how to enjoy: food, conversations, friends...

And this is the Batllori life: caring, sharing and enjoying.

We couldn't have a better name.

Like Antonieta's, Batllori is the sum of all the stories that have been lived and will be lived around the project. And we want to discover them and tell them.

In fact, Finca Batllori is a place with a lot of history. Here, the vineyards share space with the 10th-century Subirats Castle and an Iberian village from the 2nd century BC. In addition, the Batllori bottles rest in silence for months in a modernist-style building.

Also here, in this corner among the forests, 17 million years ago there was a lake inhabited by crocodiles and other animals such as the Ampelomeryx, which remained in this place forever. The paleontological site of Els Casots is one of the treasures hidden in this estate.

But Batllori is not just an origin, a estate, a winery, a cava, a masia, a vineyard or a family, but a little bit of everything.
