Music Festival in the Vineyards 2024, summer nights in Subirats
Summer is synonymous with festivals and here in Penedès we know quite a few. During the month of July Subirats becomes the heart of the Music in the vineyards festival which celebrates its twenty-first edition this year. This festival is recognized in the Penedès for bringing together different musical artists where a loyal audience, year after year, comes to this place among vineyards to enjoy a night of good music, cava and wine.
This year, in Batllori Estate We started the festival by hosting the presentation the June 21st thus giving the starting signal for the first concert. The attendees enjoyed a welcome drink and a small guided tour of the winery before the concert started. Elisenda Juliana in the voice and Ray Paz on the guitar accompanied by Joan Mar Sauque on the trumpet they were in charge of playing the music, presenting us with their first album Love will be the theme song (Fresh Sound), album with which they won the Enderrock 2024 award as best Jazz album by popular vote. To end the night, a glass of Batllori cava accompanied by a taste of peaches from Ordal, the best way to welcome summer nights.
What concerts will be held at the Music in the Vineyards Festival?
The Music Among the Vines Festival will last the whole month of July so if you missed this first concert and are looking for a different plan to do in the Penedès in the summer, the music will continue to resonate among the vineyards on Saturdays 20 and 27 July in the beautiful medieval town of Torre-ramona , one of the unknown gems of the Penedès.
Saturday July 20 , Carles Marigó , pianist and composer, arrives with three musicians and his album Breaking Bach , a bet to surprise attendees with roots music rhythms and flamenco notes. On the other hand, the Saturday July 27 will be Xavi Torres who accompanied by three other musicians will present Quarentena songs, an album cooked during the pandemic confinement and that collects different feelings. This album was a winner of the 2024 Enderrock Awards as best jazz album by critics. A good bet to close the music festival among the vineyards of Subirats.
Schedules and tickets
The Wine Truck will offer food and wine packs where you can taste the wines and cavas of the collaborating wineries while accompanying it with their culinary creations. In addition, the festival wine bar will be in full operation from 8 p.m. You can enjoy the concerts from 10:30 p.m. and the final tasting will take place with the traditional pairing in front of the Sant Sadurní Cava Brotherhood.
